Common name: Golden Barrel Cactus
Botanical name: Echinocactus grusonii

Globe shaped cactus grows slowly to 1-1/2' x 2'. Golden spines line medium green ribs. Yellow flowers appear in spring. Full sun but prefers some shade in low desert. Striking accent. Looks attractive in groupings. Native to southern Mexico.

Botanical name: Agave colorata

This agave has a compact rosette form and gows at a moderate rate to 3' x 3'. Striking grey-green leaves are banded and have distincitive toothed margins. Tips of leaves are sharp. After many years, yellow flowers appear on a stalk in the spring. Like all agaves, it will die after flowering. Accepts full sun. Great in pots or in the landscape. Native to Sonora.

This evergreen vine grows quickly to 15' x 10'. Dark green leaves are leathery and remain on the vine all year. Flowers are purple clusters that look like sweet peas. They appaer winter to spring and add desirable winter color. Needs well-drained soil. Accepts full sun to partial shade. Native to Australia.
